Chris Hemsworth Marvel character -- Thor -- has a massive fan following. It started to get more members when they saw a lighter side of God of Thunder in 2012's The Avengers. Come 2017, with Thor: Ragnarok, Hemsworth's fan following hit the roof. Portraying the character has put Hemsworth in one of the A-listers of Hollywood. But there is something more important and emotional that character has done for the Aussie actor.

In her recent interview with Vogue Australia, actress and Hemsworth's wife of eight years, Elsa Pataky, revealed that as a teenager she got a tattoo inspired by the Norse God. Decades before she'd meet her future husband.

How's that for a romantic co-incidence story?

"Yes, it’s about Thor and I ended up marrying who plays Thor!' she said,  "It is shocking how things in life (turn out). I just liked that (symbol) and the legend he had was so beautiful and I wanted to keep it," she added.

Hemsworth and Pataky met in 2010 through mutual friends and within a year they were married. The couple has three kids -- daughter India Rose who is five and twins Tristan and Sasha who are four-year-old.

In an interview with GQ last year, Hemsworth had said that his workload had put some pressure on their marriage.

"In terms of work, she's certainly given up more than I have. She'd like me to step back and be at home with the kids more, and of course, I want that too.

"I feel like I'm at this crucial point in my career - I've just got to set up for longevity or I'll slip off," he said.

Talking about their relationship, the Fast and Furious star Pataky said, "We did everything very quickly – I don’t know how we survived as a couple. We were married and then a year after we had kids.

"It puts a lot of pressure on a marriage, but we came out good because there is a lot of love between us and we are very strong personalities but love each other so much. We make it work.

“I think our years together have been great. Every marriage has ups and downs – it’s constant work to be in a successful marriage and stay together forever."
