Actor Alden Ehrenreich, who will be next seen as the eponymous Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, said working in the film felt like being in the CIA due to the level of secrecy around the project.

During an interview with GQ, the actor was asked about the rumours that his character 'wins' the iconic Millennium Falcon in a card game but Ehrenreich side-stepped the question.

"There's a lot of cinema history in this movie. There's a great card game," he said.

"I can't say for sure that there is a card game. It's like being in the CIA. It's like All The President's Men. Blink twice if you are in distress!" he joked.

The 28-year-old also admitted he was forced to lie about landing the iconic role, even after the news was leaked.

"I was very much ready to not get it," he said.

When it was official that he was cast for the role, Ehrenreich said he still had to deny it until he was officially unveiled.

"People were coming up to me in restaurants and congratulating me and I had to be like, 'Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about.'," he added.

Solo: A Star Wars Story, directed by Ron Howard, also stars Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Donald Glover.
