One of the best exercises to do when you have the flu is yoga.

According to the Huffington Post, while fighting infections like the flu, the body releases the stress hormone cortisol and practising yoga can help boost immunity.

The following poses are helpful in combating the flu, as well as a precautionary measure to help manage the symptoms.

Taking a few minutes to do them on a daily basis will help you get better and keep you healthy.

The first yoga pose is the Anuloma Viloma also know as the Alternate Nostril Breathing. According to Shape Magazine, it helps clear congestion as wells as calm the body and mind.

The second, known as the Matsyasana or Fish Pose, can help restore the body, as it is therapeutic for respiratory ailments, reveals the Yoga Journal.
