With two more persons succumbing to swine flu in the city, the total number of deaths due to the disease has risen to 17 in the last three months in and around the city.
The sources said 57-year-old Bhagavathi of K G Chavadi in the rural limits and Vasantha Mary (47) of Urumandampalayam on the outskirts, were undergoing treatment for the last 10 days in two private hospitals.
As both were tested positive for swine flu, they were shifted to the special ward of Government Hospital last evening and died in the midnight, they said.
Nearly 35 persons from Coimbatore, Nilgris and Tirupur districts were undergoing treatment for swine flu in the Government hospital.
