The second edition of DNA Winners in Life Awards culminated last week in with an awards ceremony at The Lalit, Mumbai. The evening that was high on emotions, had patients who fought cancer, members of medical fraternity and celebrities come together.

The awards had three categories, honouring people who have been closely associated with fighting cancer: patients, doctors/oncologists and nurses.

Over the weeks, more than 300 inspiring stories of people who battled and survived cancer came in. And the jury had a tough time shortlisting it to stories of 16 cancer survivors, who were felicitated at the event.

Stories of patients with with more severe conditions, and children who suffered from the illness at a young age tugged at our hearts."

"?The DNA Winners In Life initiative is addressing an important, unmet need.? It showcases the leadership role and success stories of those fighting relentlessly against cancer, and carries the message to a larger audience," said Dr Purvish Parikh, executive director of ICON

An event of this kind is a trail blazer. I thank DNA for organising this event that has recognised some of the true winners that we have among us. I hope that others find inspiration from their stories.
Gautam Khanna, CEO of PD Hinduja Hosital

I am delighted to see so many people turning up to be part of this event, and giving encouragement to these heroes, the cancer survivors and the practitioners. Such events encourage us, at CPAA that also works for the cause, to work even better.
