Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to the CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Pulwama. Addressing a government event in Bihar's Barauni, PM Modi spoke richly of the two jawans from the state who were killed.

"I pay my tributes to the bravehearts, constable Sanjay Kumar Sinha from Patna and Bhagalpur's Ratan Kumar Thakur, who sacrificed their lives for the country. I express my condolences to their families," he said.

He also said he can empathise with the anger that has gripped the nation after the attack. "I feel the same anger in my heart that's raging inside you," he said.

He was addressing a public gathering after laying foundation stones of development projects in Bihar, including an AIIMS. Also among the projects was a 9 million metric ton (MMT) AVU of the Barauni Refinery Expansion Project as well as the Patna Metro Rail Project. He also inaugurated the Patna City Gas Distribution Project and laid the foundation stone of the Haldia LPG pipeline up to Patna and Muzaffarpur.

In addition, a medical college was inaugurated in Chhapra, while two medical colleges in Gaya and Bhagalpur would be upgraded. In all, projects worth Rs 33,000 crore were unveiled on Sunday.

However, the launches didn't go down well with the Opposition leaders. RJD's Tejashwi Yadav took to Twitter to criticise Modi's announcement for AIIMS, the second in Bihar. The first AIIMS was announced in 2014 but work on it is yet to begin due to an ongoing tussle between Union minister of State for health Ashwini Choubey, who wants it in his hometown Bhagalpur, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who wants to build it on the campus of the Darbhanga Medical College instead.

"Prime Minister Modi, you are uttering a white lie. Please tell us where and when exactly you are planning to establish this second AIIMS institute, other than the one that was already set up by the UPA government in Patna," Yadav tweeted.
