You can protect yourself from sweltering heat by following these tips:

1. Stay hydrated: There are high chances that you might suffer from dehydration because of the heat. In summer, you lose water and electrolytes due to sweating profusely. Hence, it is important that you sip water throughout the day. Keep some salt and sugar handy. Add it to the whenever you feel tired and exhausted. It will help maintain the electrolyte balance. 2. Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Stay away from your coffee and that evening trip to the bar. Alcohol and caffeine both tend to dehydrate your body and can cause heat exhaustion.

3. Eat light: Eat food that is easy to digest. Avoid eating junk food, snack on a fruit or some salad. Avoid eating spicy food and heavy meals as it can cause acidity and lead to indigestion. You can follow this diet plan to stay healthy this summer.

4. Keep a scarf or a stole handy: If you have to go out in the sun, the scarf is your saviour. Cover your head and your face while you are travelling. But don’t tie it too tight or you might feel suffocated. Wear hats and caps if you don’t like tying a scarf. Alternately, you can carry an umbrella to protect yourself from the sun.

5. Wear sunscreen: Stepping out in the sun can lead to lead to sunburns, tanning and pigmentation. Use a sunscreen to protect your skin from these harmful effects of the sun.
