Love almonds? Try these refreshing ways to spice up your nuts

Almonds makes for a healthy bing which helps in satisfying hunger with less intake of carbohydrates but also are one of the most important part of a healthy diet. These nuts are rich in vitamin E antioxidants, dietary fiber, riboflavin, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, protein, manganese and calcium. They also contain folate, iron, niacin, thiamine, zinc and potassium 6. So include almonds in your routine as much as you can.

So, here are a few refreshing ways to stir up some delicious snack options:

Almond Chilli Rocks

Serves 3

Ingredients:
Almonds toasted: 1 cup
Dark choclate: 1 cup
Dried Cranberries: 1/3 cups
Chilli powder: pinch

Steps

1. Melt the chocolate in a clean bowl in a microwave oven along with the butter.
2. Fold in the almonds and cranberries into the melted chocolate.
3. Grease a tray with oil.  
4. Using a spoon to drop 1 tbsp of the mixture on the tray  to form individual portions of Almond Rocks.
5.Alternately, you can spoon the mixture into small moulds or small paper cups 
6.Chill until set.

 

Curry Leaves Almonds

Serves: 3

Ingredients:

Toasted almonds: 60 gms
Olive oil: 1 tsp
Poha: 1/4 cup
Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
Curry leaves: 6
Turmeric powder: pinch big
Kasoori methi: pinch

Steps:
1. In a bowl or micro wave, toast the poha for 2 minutes until crisp. Transfer into a clean bowl.
2. Heat oil and roast almonds. Keep aside. 
3. In the same oil, add mustard seeds curry leaves, tumeric powder, and the kasoorimethi
4. Sauté for 30 seconds. Add the almonds back and mix for 1 minute. 
5. Season to taste. 
6. Add the poha and mix well. 
7. Serve with a nice squeeze of lemon juice.

 

Tangy Almonds

Serves: 3 

Ingredients
Almonds:  60g
To taste 1 tsp 5ml
Cinnamon powder: 1 tsp
Honey: 1 tsp ½ tsp
Ginger powder: ½ tsp
Amchoor powder:  ½ tsp 

Steps
1. Toss all the above ingredients in a bowl. 
2. In a moderate oven 150C, toast for 8 to 10 minutes. 
3. Cool and store in an air tight container
