Hair donation drive supporting cancer patients

Several girl students of the Hindustan College here today donated a lock of their hair to help in making natural hair wigs in support of cancer patients under treatment at the Adayar Cancer Institute, Chennai.
After successful campaign of 'Tangled' last year, Green Trends Unisex Hair & Style Salon has sought from donors in the city a lock of hair, with a minimal hair length of eight to 10 inches for the purpose.

Invitations are open for interested donors to walk into any neighbouring Green Trends outlet and donate till February 14, S Deepak Praveen, COO, Green Trends, said in a release. Conceptualised by the rotractors of Women's Christian College and executed by Green Trends salon, 'Tangled' received an incredible response with over 3,500 people donating hair to make 300 wigs, he said.

Stating that the company received requests from many of the customers in other parts of the country, he said the campaign will be taken across major cities this year and some 200 salons are participating in the drive for which about 2,000 plus stylists are trained.
