Gayle’s fitness regime

Gayle admits that keeping fit is extremely important to him. In an interview with Digicel Cricket, Gayle admitted, ‘I spend a lot of time at the gym doing strength training, keeping fit is really important to me. I also do a lot of dancing for cardio.’

When asked about how he generates so much power, Gayle had a very matter-of-fact answer. ‘You need to build your muscles, work on your intensity and hit balls in the nets. It won’t happen overnight, though,’ he told DNA. Read how cricketers can do strength training.

Gayle’s diet

Chris Gayle swears by pasta when it comes to his diet. In an interview with DNA, he said, ‘I love my pasta. I make sure I eat pasta twice a day.’ He also follows the age-old fitness mantra of having a good and healthy breakfast. ‘I have a good, healthy breakfast. I also take a lot of fluids throughout the day,’ he told DNA.
