When you are out there working out, there should certainly be no other reason of discomfort or distraction. Not your attire or workout gear at least. We do tend to be a little ignorant about a few things, we shouldn’t push it though.

Wrong under garments

Women! Only a sports bra can serve best for this purpose. With all the treadmill brisk walks, cross training, pull ups and push ups, you need something to keep your body intact and comfortable. Skip those loose sports bras! It misses its purpose there. A fine fit has no replacement, you simply need all the support. Then, your underwear can’t have you hassled throughout your workout. If thongs are not your thing, wear boy shots and skip the lacy ones, please! Know how to choose the perfect sports bra for gym wear, here.

Worn out foot wear

If you think you can pull on with ‘running shoes’ that are a decade old, and are almost apart, you are highly mistaken. You cant go smooth on spinning with your toes peeping out from your torn shoes, you are headed for an injury soon! Note that, for the kind of workout or exercise you carry out regularly, figure your needs and set out for some shoe-shopping. Also, don’t think it’s rather cool to skip socks in your sports shoes. It’s only painful when you stumble and fall with no grip in your feet.

Jewelry in the gym

Try and leave all the glitz and glamour back home! Dangling earrings and bracelets will get the ‘sweaty’ worst of you. Besides, you don’t want earrings stuck into your mats or any accessories hindering your pace unnecessarily.

Garish hair accessorising

A simple top-knot bun or high ponytail is all you need to set you up for a heavy workout session. Don’t have your hair pinned all over, or over-the-top hair clips and jazzy hairstyles. Before you know it, your hair will be a nothing but a mess. Just wear a head-band instead to pull back all those fly-aways. Here is how you can choose your workout wear better.

Loud headphones

This comes under workout etiquette rather. You can definitely have funky headphones, however not crossing the lines of practicality. For instance, you can’t have long jazzy wires while working out, you might just trip over them. Also, avoid pumping up the volume of your music, it’s great to keep you in the zone but it might get you a little off your surroundings. You should be aware of how long you are on the treadmill, or simply if someone is calling out to you in the gym in case of an emergency.
