2. Weight Watch

Surplus body fat, predominantly if accumulated around the abdomen, can upsurge the body's resistance to the hormone insulin, which in turn can lead to type 2 diabetes.

3. Exercise is a must

Adequate exercise or even playing a sport for at least three days of the week aids manage weight, helps to decrease blood glucose levels and could also manage blood pressure and cholesterol.

4. Healthy Diet

A well balanced diet is essential. Shrink the amount of carbohydrates and trans-fats in your diet. Eating vegetables and high-fibre foods is also the key to a healthy lifestyle.

5. Trash the sugar sweetened beverages and other junk food
