On World Mental Health Day, Dr. Prachi Kohli from Apollo Spectra Hospitals spoke to DNA at length about the importance of mental well-being and how a simple practice could go a long way in better mental health. "Don't ignore the initial symptoms of the mental health," she stresses while giving her expert opinion on how to overcome mental issues.

"Psychological wellness plays a significant part of a person's life. In our everyday life, we enjoy exercises to encourage our physical wellbeing, but we as a whole disregard our mind which has a critical job. How we think is the key to the manner in which we carry on with our lives. Much the same as our physical wellbeing our psychological wellness can have high points and low points as well. Having strong psychological well-being doesn't mean an individual can never experience any terrible occasions or experience trip of feelings. We as a whole experience and have experienced misfortune, dissatisfactions, and change in our lives and keeping in mind that there are typical parts they can at present reason trouble, anxiety, nervousness, stress and so forth. Much the same as truly strong people can bob back from physical ailment, similar people who are intellectually solid and sound can reinforce from any psychological affliction, stress and trouble," she explains.

Further explaining mental health, she said, "Mental health is all about how people think, feel and behave. It refers to cognitive, behavioral and emotional  well-being. It helps you determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Mental health is a state of well-being where individuals can cope with the normal stressors of life."
