PUBG Mobile India has been banned by the Government of India ever since September 2020. With the game still being banned in India and with FAU-G (Fearless and United Guards) set to launch in January 26, PUBG Mobile India and their loyal fan base continue to be frustrated with the Government of India not willing to lift the ban. Their frustrations have mounted with PUBG Mobile global releasing a new update on both the Android and IoS platforms recently. The new updates are sure to make gamers in India sad and frustrated for the graphics and the mode of action has been enhanced. In a Twitter update on PUBG Mobile's global handle, it announced the release of a 1.2 update based on a Runic Power Mode. What is the Runic Power Mode? According to gamers who have played the latest version of PUBG Mobile, it is a feature that enhances the battle royale mode of the game.

The Runic Power Mode in PUBG Mobile is a kind of energy booster and it gives them two sets of skills. The Runes available on PUBG Mobile currently are Flame Rune, Artic Rune and Wind Rune. All these three Runes will have a boost skill and a summon skill depending upon the type of skill the player currently exhibits. This update will be there till March 7th and it gives the players unique skills to defeat the enemy.

The size of the new update on PUBG Mobile is huge. For Android, the APK file occupies 615 MB of space while on IoS, it is 1.5 GB. However, for users in India, all this is not possible as PUBG Mobile India is banned in the country.

When will ban on PUBG Mobile India be lifted?

PUBG Mobile India was banned in September 2020 along with 118 Chinese apps on the grounds of national security under Section 69A of Information Technology Act 2000. In the interim, PUBG Mobile India gave out teasers which stated that they were planning a relaunch around the year-end. The teasers, which appeared during Diwali, was highly anticipated by gamers in India but as the New Year approached, the Government of India bluntly denied permission for a relaunch as they were not convinced about PUBG Mobile India's security features.

The Government has maintained that there is no preferential treatment given to PUBG Mobile India and that the ban will remain in effect. PUBG Mobile India have hired new members, including a new country manager as they target a relaunch around March 2021. However, that will all depend on how the situation between India and China improves.
