Popular game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' or KBC, as it is better known, is back and will go on air in August 2014. The eighth season of the show will return with its most loved host Amitabh Bachchan, who will host the series for the seventh time.
'Kaun Banega Crorepati' also launched a film, Kohima, on Tuesday, which highlights the way we neglect certain cultures in our country despite the diversity we boast about. With the tagline "Yahaan sirf paise hi nahi...yahaan dil bhi jeete jaate hain", the film Kohima showcases a young woman from India's Northeast on the hot seat being questioned by Bachchan. She is asked which country the town of Kohima belongs to.
The girl opts for an audience poll, which makes people wonder since the answer is obvious. When Bachchan tells her that 100% of audience say the answer is India, and adds, "Yeh baat toh sabhi jaante hai", the girl responds, "Jaante sab hai, par mante kitne hai?". The one-minute-and-ten-second video manages to send out a marvellous message.
With the ratings of the seventh season dropping by more than 50%, Amitabh took to social networking sites to promote his upcoming TV shows.
