Brett Ratner’s film follows the story of the Demi-God Hercules who, in the aftermath of his legendary twelve labors, becomes a mercenary. The King of Thrace and his daughter seek him out for help to defeat a tyrannical warlord, Hercules finds that he will be challenged like never before. The film is based on the graphic novel series 'Hercules: The Thracian Wars' written by Steven Moore and Admira Wijaya, and aims to be gritty, violent and action-packed as opposed to the slightly lighter tones of the precious renditions of the strongest Greek God. Dwanye 'The Rock' Johnson stars as the eponymous hero, while Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Rufus Sewell, and John Hurt round up the supporting cast. 'Hercules' releases on July 25, 2014.
