The new bride, Shilpa Shetty-Kundra simply glowed in a golden gown saree. The bride and bridegroom's immediate family, Shilpa's sister Shamita, parents Surendra and Sunanda Shetty and Raj's parents, Mr and Mrs Kundra, were giving company to the radiant couple on the stage, while receiving guests. The Bollywood presence was strong but not as expected, though Amitabh Bachchan made a breezing visit with bahu Aishwarya Rai (Rai and Shetty have a Bunt connection which goes a long way back). Abhishek was busy shooting out of town. Amisha Patel came in with Sanjay Dutt's wife Manyata. Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut made solo entries. Karan Johar came in with Manish Malhotra. Jackie Shroff, Madhur Bhandarkar were also present to wish the couple. The other guests included Queenie Dhody, Aarti  and Kailash Surendranath etc. The couple then came off the dais to mingle with the guests. Strangely, a few Bollywood  biggies like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan were conspicuous by their absence. Rishi Rich and gang had the guests grooving to Punjabi music, especially Raj's side of the relatives.  A big buffet spread which included continental, Chinese and Punjabi with a long line of desserts rounded things up.
