Film and television artistes came together to announce a series of stage shows starting this month that will be also televised to a larger audience. Salman Khan turned up and told Mithun Chakraborty in his inimitable style that he should start extorting money from Bollywood stars to fund the organising body for the event.  Sohail Khan added quickly that with a nickname like ‘da’ (dada) Mithun would have no problem. Mithun retorted that Salman could fund it himself since he had lots of money….to which Salman emptied out his pockets there and then. Others who turned up at the event included Aruna Irani, Suresh Oberoi and Dara Singh.
