Career: Hilton has worked as a model, actress, musician, and engaged in sometime business pursuits. Hilton began modeling as a child, initially at charity events.When she was 19, she signed with Donald Trump's modeling agency, T Management. Hilton has also worked with Ford Models in New York, Models 1 Agency in London, Nous Model Management in Los Angeles, and Premier Model Management in London.
Hilton has made cameo appearances in several films. Hilton co-starred with Nicole Richie in the Fox reality series The Simple Life. Hilton founded Heiress Records, a sub-label of Warner Bros. Records, in 2004 and released her self-titled debut album, Paris, under that label.

In the autumn of 2004, Hilton released an autobiographical book, Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose, co-written by Merle Ginsberg, which includes full color photographs of her and her advice on life as an heiress. Hilton reportedly received a $100,000 advance payment for this book. Some in the media panned the writing as amateurish, and the book was parodied by Robert Mundell on The Late Show with David Letterman. The book became a New York Times bestseller. Hilton followed it up with a designer diary, also with Ginsberg, called Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All to Me.
Controversy: In September 2006, Hilton was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of 0.08%. Hilton was released from jail on June 26, 2007. In total, Hilton served 22 days in detention, counting her day-long home confinement. Paris Hilton and then-boyfriend Rick Salomon recorded themselves having sex in a hotel room, shot in night-vision. Hilton initially attempted to stop the distribution of the tape, but later agreed to its release. She now receives profits from the tape. Unusually for a celebrity scandal, the notoriety surrounding the tape only served to increase Hilton's fame. This footage, along with additional full-color footage, was released commercially under the title 1 Night in Paris.

Career: Hilton began her career as a fashion model. She has done several runway shows for major designers and is a regular model for Heatherette, along with her sister Paris; they usually open and close the runway shows. She launched her own clothing line, Chick by Nicky Hilton in 2004 and has also designed a line of handbags for Japanese company Samantha Thavasa from 2002–2005.In 2007, she started her second line aimed at a more mature audience and higher pricepoint, called Nicholai. In 2006, she entered a partnership for the Nicky O Hotel. The first, the Nicky O South Beach, is a 94 unit suite condo hotel in Miami which opened in 2007. It features suites by famous designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Nicole Miller, Heatherette, and Betsey Johnson. The second Nicky O Hotel was due to open in Chicago in the spring of 2007. Controversy: A Chicago real estate developer is considering scrapping a project with Nicky Hilton after the discovery of a controversial video allegedly made by the heiress.
Developer Robert Falor told The Miami Herald he is "very concerned" about a videotape that allegedly shows Hilton's older sister Paris using racial slurs. On the video, Nicky Hilton appears to be holding the camera and laughing. 

Paris and Nicky are heiresses to the Hilton hotel chain. They're trust fund sisters who live in the lap of luxury with VIP status at all the right parties.
