Bollywood Q1 results: Rs 100 crore and counting

The first month of the new year may have started off on a thanda note at the BO with none of the releases managing to hit the ‘hit’ button, but it certainly ended with a bang with Agneepath crossing the 100 crore mark (last year B-Town had to wait until mid-year to get it’s first 100 crore film).

And now with a slew of films lined up and with the big money riding on most of them, this month and the next, the industry is hoping to have a successful inning at the BO in the first quarter. With the Kareena Kapoor-Imran Khan starrer that released yesterday, followed by films like Jodi Breakers, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, Paan Singh Tomar, Ekk Deewana Tha, London Paris New York, Saif Ali Khan’s big ticket Agent Vinod and Vidya Balan’s Kahaani among others that are set to release, the trade is hopeful about them keeping the balance tilted in the favour of Bollywood.
