Film: Old Dogs
Cast: Robin Williams, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Seth Green
Director: Walt Becker
Rating: *

A tired and tested buddy formula pic, Old Dogs stars two stalwarts Robin Williams and John Travolta as two best friends—one a heart-broken divorcee and the other a fun-loving bachelor.

Their lives get turned upside down when they are expected to take care of two fraternal twins fathered by the divorcee (Williams) in his only post-divorce fling encouraged by the charming bachelor friend (Travolta).

The film is extremely tedious and the narrative is exasperatingly unfunny. Both Travolta and Williams seem to have misplaced their acting chops.

Their performances in this film are so caricaturish that even a robot would do better. The joke is obviously on us - for expecting better. Frankly ‘Old Hags’ would have been a more appropriate title!
