There are three rules of trade, says Anubhav (Sanjay Suri), soon after he has flirted and frolicked with a ‘client’: never kiss the client, take fees up front, and never fall in love. Then director Rajeev Nath embarks on a flashback which recounts the story of how circumstances force Anubhav, an aspiring actor, into the less celebrated profession of a gigolo.

Anubhav, who acts in TV serials, falls in love with Meera (Gul Panag) and marries her. The film he is starring in gets shelved, a personal crisis strikes, and a cavalier doctor enters his life. Mita Vashisht as Kamala (which sounds more like a madam than a doctor’s name) comes up with the priceless line: “I am a very good doctor but sometimes I am a very bad woman.” She leads Anubhav to a pimp Vanraj (Raj Zutshi). Vanraj bails him out and he takes on a new role.

“All prostitutes are actors,” Anubhav says. In his conflicted state, Anubhav’s description of sex is enough to tempt you into a vow of celibacy.

After his world collapses, we see a happy ending via a series of slides. And you know you are in trouble when the script/screenplay writer (Anoop Menon) plays a key role.

This film is let down by story, screenplay, cinematography, editing and acting, and rescued only by the film producers’ strike.
