Film: Rambo (Kannada)
Director: MS Sreenath
Cast: Sharan, Tabala Nani, Umashree, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Khokila, Madhuri
Rating: ***

Sharan is no doubt one of the most bankable and adored comedians of the Kannada film industry but is he someone who can carry an entire film on his shoulders? Jolly, well yes! and you would gladly agree after watching his 100th film Rambo, in which he plays the lead.

The actor has not only essayed the lead role but also produced this film which blends comedy, drama and suspense intelligently. The actor plays the role of Kitty, a car ‘dealer’ and it is his smart and funny approach to life that makes you laugh through the film. His partner in crime, Tabala Nani, contributes to the entertainment factor as well. But who is this Rambo?

While we don’t want to be spoilsports by letting out the secret, we will most definitely tell you that you will find yourself entertained while trying to find out what this Rambo is up to. Yes, there are a few comic situations and dialogues that may make some of you flinch a couple of times. Logic also takes a back seat at several places and there is also Umashree’s over-the-top acting but despite these flaws, the film does manage to entertain. The fact that Sharan utilises his strong point — comedy — to the fullest instead of  foolishly trying to impress with mindless herogiri is what will appeal to you even more.

He also seems quite comfortable shaking a leg to Arjun Janya’s songs, which by the way don’t mindlessly keep interrupting the flow of the story. Performances of famous comedians, who make guest appearances are impressive too. These artistes apart Sharan’s celebrity sister Shruti also makes a special appearance. Actor Ganesh gives a voice over.

Ultimately if you are in the mood for some light hearted fun, we suggest you hang out with our Rambo!
