Mumbai: This film was supposed to be Shah Rukh Khan's only release this year. Moreover, it generated even more buzz because it was being made by the actor's friend Vivek Vaswani. But Shah Rukh's lack of enthusiasm to allot dates for the shoot has delayed the film. Now, Dulha Mil Gaya can only release next year.

The real reason for the delay of Vivek Vaswani's film is the storyline which is quite similar to SRK's last blockbuster Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

If the grapevine is to be believed, Shah Rukh could not or was rather a little reluctant to shoot for the movie earlier because its storyline was similar to his last release Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

A source said, "In Dulha Mil Gaya, Sushmita (Sen) plays a role similar to the one that Vinay Pathak played in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Like Rab Ne..., in this film newcomer Ishita Sharma gets dumped by Fardeen Khan. Sushmita then gives her a makeover, which Fardeen's character can't recognise. So both the films have a similar storyline. Shah Rukh plays Sushmita's love interest in the film."

Shah Rukh was supposed to have a guest appearance in the film but his role got extended to almost half-an-hour of screen time.

"Shah Rukh agreed to do the film because of his friendship with Vivek Vaswani.

However, when he got to know that both the films have a similar plotline, he preferred to finish the movie which had him in the lead role. The team of Dulha Mil Gaya had no other option but to wait for him. Needless to say, the endless wait resulted in a long delay," said the source.
