Mumbai: What makes someone hot? Good looks or charisma, style or substance? DNA conducted a random poll of 500 respondents in the city, and some results were eye openers.

DNA conducted a random poll of 500 respondents in the city, and some results were eye openers.

Although Yash Birla, Anil Ambani and Ness Wadia are the acknowledged suave, good-looking icons in the corporate world, it was power player Ratan Tata who topped the poll. When asked about this result, image consultant Chhaya Momaya, said, "He is extremely suave and stylish. There is grace and honesty that shines through in his appearance. He is a very charismatic person." Amita Singh, healthcare professional, adds, "He is so suave and is always dressed well. And the fact that he is still single adds to his appeal.

As far as film stars go, B-town biggies have a mass following in the city.Actor, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai topped the poll, leaving behind Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif respectively. Says engineering student Avantika Sharma, "Both of them are pretty cool and have a very strong personality that adds to their looks. Shah Rukh has a great smile and an enthusiasm that livens up his face and makes it attractive. Aishwarya is by far the most good-looking actress around."

As far as sportsmen go, the little master, who is not generally spoken of for his looks but is known for his wizardry with the willow, scored. IT engineer, Vikas Chaudhary, says, "Sachin Tendulkar's brilliance on the field is indisputable, and he looks awesome in advertisements that he does too. He has this cute look and innocent smile that makes him a favourite with elders and youngsters alike."

Adds ace photographer Atul Kasbekar, "Sachin and Shah Rukh are easily looking their best from their mid thirties onwards. I guess it's the red wine theory."

Age does not wither their charm. And so it was with yet another 'veteran' who topped in the socialite category. Lawyer Prashant Kashyap says, "Shobhaa De is an intellectual woman and not like other socialites who just know how to dress up and show up at parties. She looks quite elegant in the cocktail sarees that she designs. She comes across as intelligent, powerful and that makes her beautiful."
