Who cares, says Kareena Kapoor?

The actor doesn’t... when it comes to counting followers on social networking sites.

Who cares, says Kareena Kapoor?

For Kareena Kapoor, balancing home with her professional life is easy as nothing much has changed post her marriage to actor Saif Ali Khan except her marital status.

“It’s no big deal really. We both have managed it for the past five years, and hopefully we’ll manage it for the next 25 also,” smiles Kareena.

As for work keeping her away from home for long periods of time, the actress says, “We never discuss work at home, but we both know it’s an important aspect of our lives and we respect that.

There’s responsibility and love in our hearts, but we don’t have to wear it on our sleeve. That’s  the beauty of the relationship,” adds Kareena. Ask her if the marriage will shadow her choice of films and she says, “Why should it? “I can never be one kind of an actress. So, I don’t mind signing women-oriented films, or playing ‘second fiddle to the heroes’ or even working with new actors as long as my role interests me.

I am a Kapoor, so the naach gaana will never go out of my life, no matter how many substantial roles I do. I love my masala fare too much.”

The actress recently released her first book Style Diary of a Bollywood Diva where she has shared her personal style mantras. However, point out that both she and Saif have never been on any social networking site and Kareena says, “Being on Twitter is like a full-time job. It amazes me how people do it. Both Saif and I are very private people, so it’s not really our kind of thing to tweet what we do and when... ‘going to take a shower’, ‘off for shoot’.

” What about using it for marketing? “Saif and I never had to market ourselves. So, we don’t think we need to start now. We let our films do the talking,” she states.

Having returned from her annual vacation, the actress has plunged head on into her work. Starting off with a two-month long schedule of Satyagraha in Bhopal from next week, Kareena will then start shooting for Karan Johar’s Gori Tere Pyaar Mein with Imran Khan, post which she will start work with Emraan Hashmi for Ekta Kapoor’s film.

“It’s fun to work with new people,” she says.
