Vivek Oberoi has always had a penchant for charity work for children — this time he has embarked on a mission to teach dance to autistic children.
Vivek had willingly agreed to become a part of Arts in Motion (AiM), a dance academy, which conducted its annual festival in Chembur on Friday.
“I am very happy to participate in AiM 2010 where the spotlight is on helping autistic children to dance with joy and embrace life fully. It is very interesting to see how the academy can leverage dance as an art form to heal lesser privileged people and give them immense joy,” said Vivek about the event which attempted to create an awareness in the city about autism in children.
According to sources close to the actor, Vivek was really excited to be a part of this event. “He had been to orphanages before for his charitable activities but working with autistic kids was a new high for him. He simply adored the many talents that these kids have in spite of their handicap. Vivek had a lovely time rehearsing with them. In fact, he had forged a strong bond with a few children at the home. These children have become his friends in just a few days. He is in fact spending his own money to get each of these kids a gift,” adds the source.
