Actor Salman Khan is soon becoming a fast friend for actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha and his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha. During his time Salman had introducedmany leading ladiesopposite himself on the silver screen. But never has he been as protective and paternal about any ofthem as hehas been to Sonakshi.
During the making ofhis upcoming film, Salman apparently kept a hawk’s eye over the debutante’s well-being, dress, food and other details on location.
Recently whenshooting for the film was over and theproud father Shatrughan found tears welling up in his eyes on seeinghisdaughter on screen, Salman held his senior’s hand and said, “Sir, Sonakshi is not just your daughter. She is the entire film industry’s daughter.”
Shatrughan can barely keep the pride and love out of his voice. “I canconfidently say that my daughter waspampered, protected andpromoted beautifully in her debut film by Salman and hisfamily. He has given Sonakshi a princess’ launch.Shecouldn’t havehoped for a better launch vehicle. When he said that Sonakshi is the entire industry’s daughter, I was moved to tears. Who says Bollywood is not a place for decent girls?” questions Shatrughan.
Now, the veteran actortrusts Salman so much that he is willing to let his daughter go unescorted by the parents for various promotionaltours abroad and in the country too.
Says Shatrughan, “I am verybusy with my variouspolitical activities. My wife too is caught up in a family problem. So why not? Sonkashi is completely safewith Salman and the team. I’ll be accompanying Salman and Sonakshi to Patna soon where they will pay a flash visit to a cancer hospital. Beyond that I can’t accompanyher everywhere.”
Once popularly known as Shotgun, the proud father is now worried abouthow his daughter will feel about working withother banners, especially after having a field day with the Khan brothers.
“She has been completely spoilt by Salman and Arbaaz. I see alot of myself in Salman. He is fearless and not awed byanyone, just like me,” ends Shatrughan.
