Gauhar Khan is keenly anticipating the release of her forthcoming film Rocket Singh — Salesman Of The Year starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
She said, “While shooting for the movie, we all got along like a house on fire. The entire crew played pranks on each other. There were times when I too was made a scapegoat.”
Narrating one such incident when she was made a ‘scapegoat’, Gauhar said, “We were shooting for a scene in which a lot of people at a dining table had to burst out laughing. Ranbir, Shimit Amin (the director) and another senior actor ganged up against me and played the prank. Shimit wanted the scene to look as natural as possible. I saw, he whispered something to the senior actor. Then he asked me to serve food in the dining table. However, I didn’t know that the camera had started rolling as he didn’t say action. As I went around serving food, the senior actor came close, looked at me deviously and said ‘Prem naam hai mera’, the dialogue made famous by Prem Chopra. I got so scared that I dropped the plates and ran to the other side of the room. Everyone around burst out laughing and that’s when she realised that the camera had been rolling.”
She added, “In fact my friends and family have nicknamed me Jerry from Tom and Jerry. They say I have his habit of frustrating people and then escaping just when they are about to explode. But believe me, I am a fun-loving person. I would never do anything to annoy someone consciously.”
