When Anil Kapoor was left alone

Actors of his home production give the promotions a miss; so he flies to India from the US to do it himself.

When Anil Kapoor was left alone
Anil Kapoor’s plans have gone haywire. The actor, who is shooting in the US, made an emergency trip to India last week because the lead actors of his film Shortkut — Arshad Warsi and Akshaye Khanna — gave the promotions a miss.

Sources say Akshaye is yet to sort out his differences with Arshad and hence decided not to share the stage with him during the film’s release. So Anil took up the responsibility of promoting the film himself instead of begging and pleading with his actors to stay back during its release.

“The release of the film is an important event. And with my lead cast (Akshaye and Arshad) busy, I wanted to be there with my director and crew during the release,” says Anil from Los Angeles where he is shooting for a TV series. He was granted a short leave of four days to come to Mumbai and release his film.

Amrita Rao, another key actor in the film, will share the stage with Anil.

West-side story
Anil Kapoor plays an Indian counter-terrorist cop in the international TV series 24 and teams up with Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland in the eighth season of the long-running hit television series in the US.
