We owe it to Bappa: Shreyas Talpade

Actor Shreyas Talpade, who has been bringing Lord Ganesha home for the past several years now, shares that it’s one of the most fun-filled festivals and also one of the most awaited ones.

“Every year we look forward to bringing Bappa home and then bid him adieu with a heavy heart. But while he’s home, the air is charged with excitement. With Him around, there’s so much joy, happiness and peace that you wish that he comes early next year again,” he says.

Even though the actor’s been busy with the promotions of his upcoming comedy Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, Shreyas reveals that for him, the darshan of Bappa comes first. And  as he visited the DNA eco Ganesha, Shreyas adds that the initiative for promoting eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi is indeed the need of the hour. “I think apart from the modaks and the aartis, what would make Bappa really happy is to see his bhakts respecting and loving the environment. That’s the real puja, to conserve the environment around and to take care of it at every step of the way. Simple things like opting for clay models, reducing use of thermocol,  go a long way in preserving the environment not just for us, but for the generations to come. I think we owe it to Bappa and our children,” says Shreyas.

Excited about his film with Nana Patekar, Shreyas admits that he’s been praying for the film to do well, but even more he’s been praying to thank for all that he’s been blessed with. “I think I am where I am only because of His blessings and I hope and pray that He will always have His hand on me. There’s so much that He’s given me without ever asking for it, that I firmly believe that He just knows what’s best. Ganapati Bappa Morya!” adds Shreyas.
