Want to re-invent myself with 'Tell Me O Kkhuda': Esha Deol

She has been away from the silver screen for a quite some time and Esha Deol, who is making a comeback with mother Hema Malini's Tell me O Kkhuda, says she rejected scripts as she wanted to re-invent herself with this film.

Esha, 28, who was last seen in Shiney Ahuja starrer Hijack based on terrorism, says she was looking for a role which could act as a re-launch for her.

"I got a couple of offers but I was not keen on them. I rejected them without a single thought of fear because I wanted to take the risk and portray a character with which I could re-invent myself.

"I took up Tell me O Kkhuda because mainly we wanted to revive our production house and found the script promising. I decided to be involved in it wholly and so did not take up any offers from outside," she told PTI.

In the film, Esha will be seen sharing screen space with father Dharmendra for the first time.

"The night before the first day of shoot was sleepless for me. I was wondering how the shot would be when I deliver my dialogue in front of dad.

"The first scene which we shared together was an emotional scene and as we both are cry babies, we didn't use any glycerin for the tears. It came out naturally," she reminisced. Esha says working in a home production is quite tough as it involves a lot of responsibilities apart from concentrating on the acting part.

"I had to focus on so many things. I had to check whether all the stars in the unit have come on time and received their meals. As mom was busy with other production work I had to check every little thing happening on the set," she said.

Esha, who had done various breathtaking stunts in action film Dhoom, will also be seen doing some for this film.

"I have done lots of stunts in my earlier films and always love to do them. I will be seen here doing camel rides, sword fighting and jumping from buildings. I took training to prepare for them."

Esha, who is yet to establish herself in the industry, says she has never taken any pressure and worked without paying heed to it.

"I don't put pressure on myself. Right from the first film I and Abhishek (Bachchan) have been compared with our parents. You can't be a carbon copy of your parents. Now people have started saying that my career has come to an end as I haven't done any film in the past three years. In Hollywood also people take off for three-four years and they are never criticised for that," she said.
