Variety is the spice of life: Ewan McGregor

Hollywood star Ewan McGregor who has challenged himself by playing gay, bisexual, heroine addict and even gone ahead and done full frontal nudity on screen, says he loves experimenting with genres.

From doing war films to even musicals, Ewan has shown his expertise to fit in ever role with equal ease.

“I’ve really enjoyed them all. The film I like the best is always the one I’m working on now or next. They’ve all been essential to me in one way or another - whether they’ve been box-office hits or flops. I have enjoyed a remarkable career which has seen me combine starring roles in huge blockbuster films - I played Obi-Wan Kenobi in three Star Wars episodes - with work for such acclaimed directors as Tim Burton (Big Fish), Baz Lurhmann (Moulin Rouge!), Ridley Scott (Black Hawk Down) and Woody Allen (Cassandra’s Dream),” he told DNA.

Ewan adds, “I’ve had a very varied time of it. And I’ve worked with some really fantastic people - great directors and great actors. I’ve been blessed. But yes, see, I have learnt a lesson in this industry that actors who say ‘I won’t like to do this and that’ left with zilch. I prefer the flicks that plea me. I’ve been blessed to work with some really fantastic people - great directors and actors.”

Ewan says it’s fun for anyone who is an actor to challenge oneself.

“Being an actor it’s very important for one to be malleable and that is what the principle even I follow of doing all the challenging roles that come my way.
