Two new comedies from Subhash Ghai's stable

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has announced two new films on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of his production house Mukta Arts - comedy Ishq De Maare and Apna Sapna Money Money 2.

Written by Neeraj Pathak, Ishq De Maare will see Dharmendra teaming up with his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol in prominent roles. Apna Sapna Money Money 2 is a sequel to the 2006 film of the same name that starred Suniel Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade.

However, the cast of the new film is yet to be finalised. Sangeeth Sivan will wield the megaphone again for the sequel.

Ghai himself will direct Kaanchi, a romantic musical thriller. Set to go on the floors soon, it will have Rishi Kapoor in a negative role and is scheduled to hit theatres August 15, 2013.

Cancels Mukta Arts event as mark of respect to Yash Chopra
Meanwhile, the filmmaker has cancelled the 34th anniversary celebrations of his production house Mukta Arts as a mark of respect to late filmmaker Yash Chopra, who died due to dengue-related complications last Sunday. The event was scheduled for Wednesday.

"Yashji has always stood by me. Whenever I needed him, he was like a guiding brother to me. He had seen me growing from an actor to filmmaker and attended every anniversary and every event of Mukta Arts," Ghai said in a statement.

"His absence saddens me deeply today (Wednesday) on the 34th anniversary of Mukta Arts. He was the first person to call me when high court ordered me to discontinue Whistling Woods Film Institute in Mumbai and asked me if I need any help from him. He extended full support. How can you forget these kind of giving people in life," said Ghai.
