Two youths were injured when the private security guard of WWE wrestler Dalip Singh alias Khali opened fire at a crowd to allow the safe passage of the wrestler following which a case has been registered against him.

Police commissioner Ishwar Singh said in Ludhiana today that a case is registered against the guard under Sections 307 of IPC (attempt to murder) and 25 of the Arms Act. No arrest has been made so far, he said.

Khali was on a visit to the residence of senior BJP leader and Punjab assembly deputy speaker Satpal Gosain in the Janak Puri locality here last night, where a crowd of his fans gathered, the commissioner said.

After staying for about an hour, when Khali came out, the crowd became restive and unruly. He had to make efforts to get into his car.

According to an eye witness, from the group of around a few hundred people, one person hurled a stone at Khali's car as a result of which the wind shield of the car was damaged.

In order to clear the passage for the wrestler, a security guard came out of the car, but people started pushing and elbowing him also, he said.

The personal security guard of Khali took out his revolver and fired in the air and when the mob refused to budge, he fired at them resulting in injuries to two young boys of the same locality.

The car left the scene before the arrival of the police. A case was registered against the security guard on the complaint of Goravjit Singh, a friend of one of the injured.

Both the injured, who were rushed to the hospital are said to be out of danger, police said.
