Tribute acts and performances to the legendary singer Whitney Houston continue to take place following her demise almost a fortnight ago. One such tribute is slated to take place in the city tonight, and the woman behind it is singer Manasi Scott.
A die-hard fan of Whitney, Scott refers to the late singer as her “teacher.” “I never learnt singing professionally, ever in my life,” she says, adding, “I remember I was eight years old when her award-winning album Whitney was out. I bought the cassette and tried to sing along. She was my only teacher!
“When I was 12 and did my first professional singing, I sang her Greatest Love of All,” recalls Scott.
She continues, “I won several singing competitions as a kid by performing Whitney’s songs like I Will Always Love You, I Wanna Dance With Somebody which I shall be performing tonight as well.”
Besides, Scott will also perform some tracks by Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Adele at the show happening at Blue Frog tonight.
