Srinagar: Attired in salwar-kameez, actor Juhi Chawla walks along the banks of river Jhelum for a shoot as Kashmir valley, once a favourite haunt for film-makers, is once again beckoning the Bollywood.
With violence receding in the valley, the latest film unit to land in scenic Srinagar is the cast and and crew of film Megha directed by Onir Kapoor.
Film's lead actor Sanjay Suri, a native of Kashmir, said shooting of the movie in the valley showed that normalcy had returned to this beautiful place.
Not used to watching film shoots in Kashmir since the outbreak of militancy in 1988, cine buffs were delighted to see Juhi Chawla and Manisha Koirala, who also stars in the movie, walking on Srinagar roads today.
"My joy knew no bounds when I saw Juhi and Manisha on roads. It was an unforgettable experience," said Feroz Ahmad Baig, a shopkeeper.
"My cherished desire has been realised today when I saw silver screen personalities shooting near river Jhelum," said Mohammad Rafiq, a boat owner.
Schoolboy Haroon too was thrilled. "I could not believe my eyes when I saw Juhi, my favourite actress, doing a shoot near the the banks of river Jhelum."
Megha, a 20-minute film, depicts the reunion of two childhood friends, played by Juhi and Manisha, after 20 years. It also explores the friendship between a Kashmiri Hindu and a Muslim girl.
