Christmas is all about fun, cheer and love. However, the festival also comes with its share of fables and brings inspiration along with it…DNA brings you movies you would like to curl up and watch this X’mas eve.
It’s A Wonderful Life
It’s the story of George Bailey, a man who plunges into despair and commits suicide on Christmas eve gains the notice of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody, who is sent to help him in his hour of need. The treatment of the movie is so simple that it appeals to moviegoers cutting across all age groups.
The Wizard Of Oz
The film was made at a time when colour was just invading the film industry. The invasion proved good for The Wizard of Oz which used colour to show the transition of Dorothy from her dull life in Kansas to the wonderful dream world of Oz. A story which has all the ingredients to make moviegoers beam with happiness: fantasy, effects, wonderfully imaginative colorful sets, witches, wizards, tin men, lions, scarecrows and dwarfs; the dream world never seemed so enchanting.
The Ten Commandments
This colossal biblical epic from Hollywood legend Cecil B DeMille depicts the story of Moses from his infancy to the triumphant moment when he led the Israelites out of captivity in Egypt. Charles Heston in his most iconic role, this is one epic that can’t be forgotten.
The Polar Express
Robert Zemeckis’ mastery over special effects is visible in the film where performance captures technique and gives it an edge. A movie that has the potential to be part of the kids’ Xmas tradition — forever fresh because it kicks out Christmas cliches.
White Christmas
A widely popular film, this song and dance drama has many loopholes but it’s one of the rare movies which work wonderfully as a whole. Forget the not-so-warm critical acclaim, this one is going to warm up your holiday.
