'Teen Patti' does not glorify gambling: Leena Yadav

Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Teen Patti does not glorify gambling, the movie's director Leena Yadav has said.

"Teen Patti does not glorify gambling at all. It is not about gambling on table but all those small gambles that we make in our life. It is about the shortcuts one takes and how it lands them in trouble," Yadav told PTI.

The movie is about greed and deception set in the backdrop of high stake gambling, she said. The film, starring Ben Kingsley, R Madhavan, Raima Sen, four debutants, is produced by Ambika Hinduja under the banners Hinduja Ventures and Serendipity Films. The movie is an emotionally riveting and razor sharp
thriller about greed and deception.

"Bachchan plays the role of a mathematician and tries to write a thesis on probability and then how he relates it to the Indian card game of Teen Patti. The movie is all about how things change from a mere research to game of greed," Yadav said. It is a slick thriller that will draw audiences into an inescapable web of intrigue and suspense, she said.

Though Yadav's earlier movie, Shabd, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt did not fare well at the box office, she expects Teen Patti to do well.

"It was great working with Bachchan and Sir Ben Kingsley. It was challenging. I have learnt lot of things from them which will help me go a long way. It was great working with wide range of actors including Madhavan and other debutants," Yadav said. The film is slated for release on February 26.
