A unique performance by the internationally renowned Symphony Orchestra of India at the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) will enthrall the audience today at the race course. If that was not enough, the musical event promises to have a grand finish with the performance of popular music composer Shankar Mahadevan.

In association with the National Centre Performing Arts (NCPA), RWITC hosts this musical event, which is part of their new strategy in enhancing the popularity of the club. From being a venue to high-octane horse racing, the club has opened its premises for enticing cultural performances such as these.
The Symphony Orchestra of India includes 75 talented musicians conducted by the famed violinist Marat Bisengaliev, who also serves as its esteemed Music Director, also comprise some of the most talented classical musicians across the world. The climax of the show will see Mahadevan performing along with the orchestra for the first time ever.

Vivek Jain, chairman of RWITC, says, “These events are designed to showcase our destination, and offer a greater ensemble for our members to enjoy and partake in. And we are proud to present for the second year in a row a superlative evening in partnership with the NCPA.”

The club has already played host this season to Marathi Banaa with the Lodha Foundation, Toumani Diabate with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, musician Avicii and, more recently, singer Sonu Nigam with the Rotary Club. These events help showcase the Turf Club’s premises before a new audience and give members and the racing fraternity a chance  to enjoy a range of cultural and entertainment evenings, apart from the racing.
