Sunny Leone has been signed on as the face of energy drink XXX owned by actor-entrepreneur Sachiin Joshi. The name of the product makes one wonder if casting an actress of X-rated films was a convinient pun or just a co-incidence. Sachiin insists it’s the latter.
Sunny’s romance with Bollywood continues. After signing Ragini MMS 2, and then doing an item song (Laila in Shootout At Wadala); the adult film star has signed her first endorsement now. Surprisingly, she has been paid a figure that is close to what B-Town’s A-list actresses draw for an ad.
According to an insider, Sunny got a whopping Rs 1.5 crore to be a part of the campaign.
Sachiin, however, refuses to divulge the exact remuneration involved, “Our target is the youth especially in the age group of 18 to 25. When our marketing team carried out a research, we learnt that Sunny is one of the most popular faces especially with the male audience. Among the girls, she was the most-talked about and so we zeroed in on her.”
The actor who was most recently seen in Mumbai Mirror adds that her porn star status was not the criteria to cast her and neither do they intend to cash in on her XXX factor.
“That is just a coincidence. For us, the three Xs stand for Experience Extreme Excitement and that’s what Sunny represents. Her porn star status has nothing to do with casting her. Sunny is an actress like anyone else.
” Sachiin adds, “We are in the process of shortlisting two more Bollywood names, who will feature alongside Sunny in the campaign.” It may be recalled that this particular brand has earlier been associated with Shah Rukh Khan, as they were one of the sponsors of his IPL cricket team.
