Sonu Sood can’t get enough of Kannada

The Bollywood actor may soon follow up his first film in Sandalwood — Sampath Kumar — with more Kannada projects.

Sonu Sood can’t get enough of Kannada

He’s already the reigning king of Tollywood, being the first choice for anti-hero roles. Now, Sonu Sood seems to be ready to conquer Sandalwood too, as he’s considering some interesting projects that are coming his way.

DNA has learnt that some of the wise producers in the industry want to capitalise on the actor’s popularity in Tollywood and have approached him with bilingual projects.

Confirming this, Sonu says, “Yes, after seeing my willingness to act in Kannada films, I have been approached by many people who want to cast me in their films, both as hero and villain.”

Sonu, who currently has around a week of shoot left for his debut Kannada film Sampath Kumar alongside Sudeep, says, “I am taking this slowly though. I like the concept of working in bilingual projects. Currently, I am scanning through these scripts before I actually finalise on the right one.”

The other film that Sonu is excited about is his Bollywood film Buddha.

“Puri (Jagannadh) is making his Bollywood entry through this film. He is the most sought after film-maker in Andhra Pradesh. I play a cop in this film. And I’m working alongside Amitabh Bachchan,” he says.

Sonu adds, “It is a role that requires a lot of homework. This is why I’ve been at home in Mumbai lately, meeting a lot of policemen and observing how they go about their work. This is one film that I’ve pinned a lot of hopes on.”
