Sonam Kapoor; the gen next style icon

When it comes to fashion, the college girls seem to be pros at it. They are very clued in to fashion trends, really aware of working style on a budget and also want to look their best wherever they go and whatever they do. But the question is, whose style do they follow when it comes to keeping track of the latest trends and genuinely liking them? Is there a college fashion icon? The resounding answer is yes.

Most girls came up with one name, Sonam Kapoor. “I feel Sonam Kapoor is one of the best dressed and looks very stylish in the industry today” says Rhea Gopal, a psychology student. Priyanka Jain, another college-goer says: “Sonam is the only girl that can be looked up to in Bollywood now; she does not overdo her clothing and accessories and always looks perfect for the occasion.” Sonam also tops the list when it comes to Indianwear, “Sonam Kapoor can pull of casual Indian clothing too, Delhi 6 is a perfect example of it. None of the actresses can ever carry off those clothes” says Priyanka Singhi, a commerce student.

However, Sonam is not the only and the undisputed style icon it seems. “Sonam Kapoor’s clothing looks like a school kid’s geometry work, I think Kareena Kapoor’s gowns and saris look best” says Mansi Bhatia, from Mount Carmel College. Dharini Dilip Kumar; a student, casts her vote for Lisa Hayden though.

“Lisa Hayden is the best fashion icon. This model-turned-actress has her own perception of style which doesn’t come from some stylist, it’s truly Hayden.” Priyanka Singhi adds “I really love the way Shilpa Shetty dresses post her marriage, she has some of the best Indian ethnic wear I have seen on a Bollywood celebrity.”
