Soha Ali Khan recently broke down on the sets of her forthcoming film Life Goes On. Soha’s real-life mother Sharmila Tagore plays her mother in the film too. And she dies in the end. Soha apparently was so overwhelmed with the emotion of losing her mother that she could not handle herself on the sets.
A source says, “The film is about Sharmila, her husband played by Girish Karnad and their three daughters. Soha plays Sharmila’s youngest daughter who falls in love with a Muslim man. It was most probably a very disturbing feeling for Soha as her mother dies in it. It seemed for Soha her on-screen and off-screen mother was the same person.”
The insider adds, “Soha has done a commendable job. Acting in front of your own mother who passes away in the film can give you a very weird feeling. She acted out the scene beautifully and wasn’t at all nervous that she was acting with Sharmila Tagore.”
Soha says, “Life Goes On is a beautiful film. It was a little emotionally disturbing for me to see my mother die as my own mother was playing my reel-life mother.”
It’s for the first time that the mother-daughter duo is working together in a particular project.
