If you thought Latino sensation Ricky Martin was enough to make your adrenaline rush, here’s more. The singer will be in India in February next year to perform in Agra on February 25, with Pandit Ravi Shankar and daughter Anoushka. And chances are that pop star Shakira might just join him.

As part of UNICEF’s ‘Unite for Children, Unite Against AIDS’ campaign in India Ricky says, “I am thrilled to perform in India. By raising consciousness and funds through the Ricky Martin Foundation, UNICEF and 8th Wonder of the World benefit concert series, I really wish to help protect the children of the world from this fatal pandemic.” The singer further elaborates, “What is not understood is that the future of many developing countries is in jeopardy due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic that affects millions.”

Confirming the visit to India, Farooq Singh, co chairman of the 8th Wonder of the World Concert series says, “Ricky has confirmed his performance at the Taj Mahal concert and hopefully Shakira may end up sharing the stage with him.”

Singh adds that both the singers are quite excited about the trip. He says, “Talks are on with Shakira. We have our fingers crossed. Only the dates are a problem. We are just waiting to sort that out.”
