Shahid Kapur is still bitter about the fact that his mother Neelima Azim got all his exes to star in her directorial venture and dumped him. After casting Bhavna Pani, who was rumoured to be Shahid’s girlfriend in college, Neelima got in touch with Priyanka Chopra to star in the film.
“Shahid had initially said yes to the film. It was during the same time his father (Pankaj Kapur) also came along with a script which he green-lighted,” says a source. Though Shahid’s parents separated when he was only three, Shahid’s has to kept in touch with both of them. “The problem started when Shahid started interfering in the script that his mother had finalised as he wanted some changes. Neelima did a few changes but after that she put her foot down and wanted him to go with the script that she liked,” the source adds.
According to sources, Shahid remained adamant and gave his mom an ultimatum that unless the changes are made, he won’t remain in the film. His mom refused. “What hurt Shahid was that his mom went ahead and signed his Kaminey co-star Chandan Sanyal in Shahid’s role. He is not on talking terms with his mom right now,” the source adds. When we got in touch with Shahid regarding this, he admitted that there’s an “issue” with his mom. “Yes, I am not doing my mom’s movie and I don’t want to comment on who’s there and who’s not. Please let that issue remain between me and my mother. We will sort it out between ourselves,” Shahid says.
