Shah Rukh Khan’s fortunes in the cricket arena might be on a major decline with his ambitious sports business venture — the Indian Premier League franchise Knight Riders finishing at the bottom of the table in two consecutive years, but his love for the game remains intact.
DNA has learnt through sources that Shah Rukh, who apparently has some land in Dubai, is planning to develop it into a huge stadium soon. He is teaming up with some developers, the King and other government officers of the country for this. SRK’s decision to embark upon this project comes from his silent philanthropic side as he wants to provide free coaching and assistance for needy and underprivileged players who cannot bear the expenses. The stadium will also host not just cricket matches, but will be equipped to convert itself into a track and field events ground.
A source informs, “When operational, the ground will have all the facilities to host international cricket matches and even other global sporting events. SRK is a dearly loved Indian star in the country and this is his way of giving it back to them. He will frequent the place more often than what he used to. The place might also become a venue for his stage shows in that land.” When contacted, SRK chose to stay mum on this news.
