Salman Khan shows 'Bodyguard' director his best side

It is said that if you work with actor Salman Khan, he takes you under his wing. He has done it countless times for people he likes and sources say, he had earlier done it for actor Katrina Kaif too. But so far, Salman has never done it for any director. Even before his first film was out, Salman ensured that the director of his last film Bodyguard not be short of work, because he wouldn’t find time to work with him for the next three years.

Siddique, the debutant director of Bodyguard has now got his second film, all thanks to Salman. Siddique will now direct a film for producers Shyam Bajaj and Narendra Bajaj.

“Last year when Bodyguard was being shot, Shyam Bajaj who was looking for a good director asked Salman to recommend him a director for a script that he had. Salman started describing him how he got Siddique and how he should also try out Siddique as a director. Shyam was not convinced first and he went away without saying anything or giving a word. But he had his faith in Salman and came back,” a source says.

When DNA got in touch with Shyam Bajaj, he too confirmed that he has roped in Siddique simply because of Salman’s recommendation.

“Yes, I asked Salman and he told me about Siddique. Since he was very happy the way Bodyguard was shaping up he told me, I should work with him. I trust Salman when it comes to talentspotting,” Shyam says.

Siddique, on his part said that post the huge success of Bodyguard, he had offers from “almost every banner possible,” but since this was a commitment made even before the release of Bodyguard, he kept his word and told all the producers that he will first fulfill his prior commitment of making the film with Shyam Bajaj and then may consider other offers.

“It was nice of Salman to recommend me to Mr Shyam and Narendra Bajaj, I immediately agreed. I also had to keep my word and I am happy that I will be directing a film for them. There is no doubt that it will be a commercial entertainer,” added Siddique.
