Salman Khan's heart scare

Salman Khan's heart scare

Actor Salman Khan’s health-scare seems to be a cleverly engineered publicity plan devised to get some last minute spotlight on to the star whose film is releasing next week. Sources say that the star has genuinely been advised to go for an angiogram by doctors, which suddenly became a rumoured heart attack Thursday night, through a Chinese whisper.

Salman’s family members including brother Arbaaz and Sohail are clueless about who started the rumour but have clarified that he is hale and hearty.

“The rumour started with a Salman Khan fan club on Twitter, which posted, ‘Salman Khan admitted in Mumbai hospital to undergo angiography. Hope everything is fine, pray for him’. Panic spread which started a chain reaction. Salman’s family has been informed about this,” says a source. Nobody could pinpoint who had spread the word.

Meanwhile, his forthcoming film’s promotions have reached their last stage.

The film that has gone terribly behind schedule needs some serious spotlight.

The shooting got over last week and the stars have not been able to promote the film at all.

“It was in bad taste to use Salman’s health issue as a publicity gimmick. Bhai genuinely needs an angiogram to be done for his heart condition but the sad part is that the information of the angiogram was twisted and made to seem like a heart attack. Who informed his fan club that bhai needs to do an angiogram? This fact is known only to his close family members and those working with him at the moment,” says a close friend of Salman.

Apparently, Salman’s smoking habits have led the doctor to suggest this test to see if his heart arteries are functioning well. However, no doctor has issued any health alert yet.

“Salman has been asked to stop smoking but he hasn’t. Last year he was hospitalised when he complained of breathlessness. It was then that the doctor asked him to go for regular check-ups and do an angiogram every year,” the source adds.
