Russian spy Anna Chapman makes debut as TV presenter

Former Russian spy Anna Chapman has made her debut as a television presenter.

The show, titled Secrets of the World with Anna Chapman, promises to explore and even solve apparently unsolvable mysteries.

Details of several of the topics that she will examine in her prime time weekly TV show have been revealed, and the makers have confirmed that this will not include any mention of Chapman's spying activities, reports the Telegraph.

In the programme for REN TV, Chapman will also examine the strange story of a "miracle" Muslim baby in southern Russia who shot to fame after it was claimed that verses of the Koran mysteriously appeared and faded on his tiny body every few days, he added. She did not reveal whether she had used her experience as a spy to solve the riddle.

One other strange case that she will reportedly look at is that of a seven-year-old boy living near Moscow who inexplicably spontaneously combusted in a fireball of flames last year.

Historical mysteries will also get the Chapman treatment, including the so-called amber room mystery. The exquisite 18th century room hewn from amber was housed in a Russian palace near St Petersburg but was removed by the Nazis during World War II and taken to what is today the Russian city of Kaliningrad. It then disappeared and its whereabouts have remained a mystery ever since.
